This is a gaping hole in WP7; there is no good excuse this far into Microsoft's ownership of Skype.

No live tile, no notifications, if you leave the app you're not connected anymore... This is more alpha than beta. A shame for Microsoft...

No way !!! Skype is a major app, THE only reason why I'm still on IOS. Untill this application is available on Windows Phone 7, Skype MUST stay here !!!

It is rumored that we will see Skype app in MWC. Hope fully they won't let us down. Wanting to see deep integration in OS soon.

I don't think people need to vote on this. We know it's coming very soon and we can be more confident of it because it's Microsoft Skype now.

Short of having people withdraw their votes, I believe the only way I can "give them back" is to close the request. Once the Skype app is actually available, I will mark this request as completed, which should give everyone back their votes.

It is rumored (http://www.theverge.com/microsoft/2012/2/3/2768279/skype-for-windows-phone-internal-testing) that a Skype application will be launched by the end of February 2012 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) with full OS integration coming in the Windows Phone "Apollo" release.
